Elements of Beauty: in order of appearance

Carla Zaccagnini

Elements of Beauty: in order of appearance, The Daily Mirror (June 4th 1914).

Elements of Beauty: in order of appearance, 2013-2018, consists of 13 original newspapers published between 1913 and 1914, which cover these actions performed by the group of militants that became known as the Suffragettes. The newspapers are covered by a sheet of paper, with small cut windows that only reveal the characters described by the press: the militant, the suffragette, the crazy woman with an axe, the King, the guards, the museum visitors. It is as if these characters could come back to life from the pages of newspapers that they could potentially have read themselves.

The original newspapers are displayed in 13 tables, three of them have mirrors to show the front pages, in the cases in which they depict these same actions in museums.
