About the artist
In her artistic practice Jonna Hägg works mainly with how a consensus around nature is established. She is interested in the culture in which we live and how we perceive our natural habitat; how its structures and logic has become more natural to the human than nature itself. How seemingly insignificant details can trigger feelings and questions that may be difficult to understand. Jonna investigates the relationship between organism and machine, the organic and the artifact. Her work is often threatening and vibrating  while catching nature’s power reservoirs. Sound has come to be a major focus in her artistic practice in recent years. She sculpts with sound, like a mass being molded. The main medium is moving image, both video and animation, sound and installation.
